WINTER SCHEDULE The Center for Cancer Support & Education provides Support Groups and Wellness Activities for people who have been touched by cancer. Please share this information with those who are undergoing treatment or who have had cancer, their family members and caregivers. Most Programs are held at The Center, located at 180 Massachusetts Ave., Suite 301 in Arlington, (parking in the rear, on Mass. Ave. and on side streets). SUPPORT GROUPS Breast Cancer Support Group Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:15 PM Facilitator: Mary Lewis Sheehan, APRN, BC Join our group and gain the support and connection that is so vital when one is coping with the stress of treatment for breast cancer and its impact on one's whole life. This group is for women who have had or who are currently in treatment for breast cancer. This is an opportunity to share information, strength and hope. Join at any time. General Cancer Support Group Thursdays 5:45-7:00 PM Twice Monthly Meeting Schedule: December 13 Facilitator: Tara Mann, MS Men and women of all ages and with all types of cancers are welcome to join at any time. The group has developed cohesiveness around management of fear and anxiety, developing hope and meaning, and loving support for all members. Reiki Practitioner Wellness Programs are intended to help individuals learn how to feel better,discover creative paths to access relaxation response and to experience hands-on techniques to relieve stress-related symptoms. Ideal for anyone dealing with the pressures of chronic medical conditions, caregiving or simply busy life schedules and priorities.
"Using Expressive Arts for Healing" - Private Therapy Sessions - Suggested Donation: $60 for 1 hour session Private Guided Meditation, Self-Hypnosis for Relaxation, or Wellness Consultation - Suggested Donation: $35 for 1/2 hour session. Acupuncture Facilitator: Kate Ruma, MAOM, Lic AC –Board Certified Acupuncturist/Herbalist Acupuncture has helped many in relieving nausea due to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Suggested Donation: $70 Writing Workshop: Cancer Survivors & Caregivers Saturdays Facilitator: Angelika Festa, M.A., Artist, Writer and Teacher 781-646-3624 In this informal workshop, participants will explore writing through poetry, letters, and journaling to express their thoughts, feelings and experiences of living with cancer.
