The Center for Cancer Support & Education provides Support Groups and Wellness Activities for people who have been touched by cancer. Please share this information with those who are undergoing treatment or who have had cancer, their family members and caregivers. Most Programs are held at The Center, located at 180 Massachusetts Ave., Suite 301 in Arlington, (parking in the rear, on Mass. Ave. and on side streets). To participate, please contact the facilitator, or email us at info@centerforcancer.org or call 781-648-0312. No one is turned away due to cost -- please discuss a scholarship your facilitator. Preregistration is required for all groups and activities. Please contact the office before attending your first meeting.

Join our group and gain the support and connection that is so vital when one is coping with the stress of treatment for breast cancer and its impact on one's whole life. This group is for women who have had or who are currently in treatment for breast cancer. This is an opportunity to share information, strength and hope. Join at any time. Men and women of all ages and with all types of cancers are welcome to join at any time. The group has developed cohesiveness around management of fear and anxiety, developing hope and meaning, and loving support for all members. MIND/BODY WELLNESS
Monthly Meditation Workshop - Wednesday 9:30 - 10:30AM Facilitator: Deb DeMella, RN, RPP, RYS, Reiki Master
"Find peace and calm in the moment" through exploring alternate pathways to cancer support. Sessions of guided meditation to remind your body of its ability to function. This group provides a non-verbal support system between you and your spiritual self. Meets at CCSE. Fee: Sliding scale $10-$20/class.
Private Wellness Sessions A customized private wellness session is designed specifically to meet the needs of the client and incorporates any of the our available therapies. Sessions are appropriate for anyone dealing with the pressures of chronic medical conditions, care giving, or for people simply seeking higher levels of wellness and greater quality of life. Wellness programs can provide relief and support related to cancer, caregiving, and grief. Contact CCSE to schedule a private session.
Polarity Balancing Therapy/Light Massage/Acupressure/ Reiki/RYSE Private Therapy Sessions Facilitator: Deb DeMella, RN, RPP, RYS, Reiki Master Polarity therapy is a synthesis of ancient Eastern and inteegrative medicine health philosophies, centered on the concept of a human energy field. It utilies touch, verbal interaction, exercise, nutrition and other methods. Suggested donation: $70/hr. for cancer patients, caregivers and health care professionals. $85/hr. for general public. Six session discout available.
Acupuncture Facilitator: Kate Ruma, MAOM, Lic AC –Board Certified Acupuncturist/Herbalist Acupuncture has helped many in relieving nausea due to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Writing Workshop: Cancer Survivors & Caregivers Fall Dates: Sept 18, Oct. 9, 23, Nov. 6, 20, & Dec. 4. 10am - 12 pm. Facilitator: Angelika Festa, M.A., Artist, Writer and Teacher Particpants explore writing as an expression of their thoughts, feelings, and experiences of living with cancer. Emphasis will be placed on the process of writing rather than a final product. Suggested Donation: $5 per class to support the Wellness Program.
